As one of the number unmatched groups to be dubbed "the following Smiths," James became an institution on the British alternative medication conniption of the '80s and '90s with their pleasant folk-pop. Early in their life history, James were blessed by kudos from their god Morrissey, which sour out to be both a blessing and a execration. The group was pegged as mediocre Smiths, yet continued to turn and good Book, eventually gaining a sizable following. In the late '80s, the chemical chemical group, like many of their British peers, became byzantine in the acidic house-inspired "loose-fitting" delineation and recorded the baggy-inspired "Sit Down," which became their breakthrough strike. Shortly after "Sit Down," James became more observational, culminating in a coaction with Brian Eno that resulted in their biggest American album, Laid, in 1993. James took quatern long time to follow Laid, by which meter their auditory modality had returned to a cult following.

Henry James formed in Manchester in 1982, when Paul Gilbertson (guitar), Jim Glennie (bass), and Gavan Whelan (drums) met Tim Booth (vocals) at Manchester University and asked him to join their newcomer lot. During the next yr, the lot became regulars on the local order racing circuit, and by 1983, they had signed to Factory, cathartic their debut EP, Jimone, later that yr. Two days by and by, their second EP, James II, was released, and Morrissey, the lead isaac Merrit Singer of the Smiths, publically endorsed the chemical group, asking them to open for his group. By the summer of 1985, Larry Gott had replaced Gilbertson, and the group signed to Sire Records. Working with producer Lenny Kaye, the group recorded its debut, Stammer, that year, cathartic it in former 1986 to generally positive reviews.

Over the succeeding deuce age, James toured invariably, building up a solid fan understructure. They released their second gear album, the folky Strip mine, in 1988. The record failed to capitalize on their live following, and the ring departed Sire the following yr, signing with the sovereign Rough Trade. On their new judge, James released the slightly successful "Sit Down" and the alive album One Man Clapping, which climbed to number one on the indie charts. In 1990, Whelan was replaced by David Baynton-Power, and James expanded to a septet with the addition of keyboardist Mark Hunter, violinist Saul Davies, and trumpeter Andy Diagram. The new lineup signed to Fontana Records and released Gold Mother in the fall. Following a handful of minor rack up singles, Gold Mother net became a breakthrough success in the spring of 1991, when a re-recorded edition of "Sit Down" -- straight off boast a present-day sloppy wash up -- climbed to figure 2 on the U.K. charts and became a staple on U.S. advanced rock receiving set. Although the success of "Sit Down" was a blessing, it as well was a condemnation, as the individual became all James were known for. The band began to insurgent in concert, playing nearly nil only fresh material, and their following album, 1992's Seven, was sensed as a mistaken thrust at swelled area rock.

For the followup to VII, James stripped away Diagram and worked with producer Brian Eno. The resulting record, Laid, was a quieter, more than ambitious album, and it standard some of the band's best reviews. While the album was unheeded in the U.K., it was an alternative rock rack up in the U.S. on the lastingness of the rubric cart track, which became a crossing over hit. During the Laid roger Sessions, James recorded another album's worth of experimental medicine with Eno that was released in the fall of 1994 as Wah Wah. The album received mixed reviews and the grouping took an extended split up throughout 1995, partly due to guitarist Gott's going away. In 1996, Tim Booth recorded a collaborationism with composer Angelo Badalamenti (Gemini Peaks, Blue Velvet) entitled Stall and the Bad Angel, which received more often than not incontrovertible reviews.

With guitar player Adrian Oxaal in tow, James returned in early 1997 with Lash, a more straightforward record that was greeted with interracial reviews. 1999's Millionaires, recorded with new guitarist Michael Kulas, was initially released only in the U.K. Their spectacular follow-up, 2001's Proud of to Meet You, was besides available solely in the U.K. A few months after, frontman Tim Booth announced his going away from the band he founded almost 20 eld before, citing that it was the right time to go. A winter tour of the U.K. was slated for December 2001, marking Booth's last with the band. The remaining members insisted they'd carry on; however, James formally called it quits at the tour's ending. In 2007, James announced that it would be re-forming and embarking on a tour in living of the double-disc digest Fresh as a Daisy: The Singles.

As well as existence unrivalled of the ablest solo turntablists on the world, Cut Chemist is too a member of two extremely rated crews: tube hip-hop kings Jurassic 5 and the Los Angeles Latin casimir Funk circle Ozomatli. He came up with the L.A. hip-hop radical Unity Committee, and debuted on rear with the B-side of UC's 1993 single "Incorporate Rebelution." The running "Lesson 4: The Radio" was a testimonial to and continuation of Double D and Steinski's seminal rap music collage masterpiece "Lessons 13," and included nods to Indeep, Bob James, Spoonie Gee, and Dan Ackroyd.

Before long later the record's vent, Unity Committee came unitedly with some other group, Rebels of Rhythm, to cast Jurassic 5. Cut Chemist kept rather busy with the chemical group, contributing "Moral 6" to the group's eponymous EP and producing the entire record book. He too delved into remixing (DJ Shadow, Liquid Liquid) and outside bring (scrape for Less Than Jake; coming into court with Ozomatli). In mid-1997, Cut Chemist recorded his record album debut, Live at the Future Primitive Sound Session, with Shortkut of Invisibl Skratch Piklz. In 1999, he teamed up with DJ Shadow and performed a series of events in San Francisco. Brainfreeze is a live transcription of a rehearsal for one of those shows, and became a popular and hard to chance record album. In 2001, the duet followed up their late success with Product Placement, a studio record book that stylistically followed the pattern of Brainfreeze (deuce foresighted tracks, two DJs). In 2004, Cut Chemist issued Litmus test Test, a remixed ingathering of his late work. It was followed in 2006 by The Audience's Listening. His tracks have besides appeared on two seminal turntablist compilations, Repay of the DJ, Vol. 1 and Deep Concentration.

Based in Los Angeles (by way of Florida), From First to Last formed in 2002 with guitarists Travis Richter and Matt Good. With a rotating lineup early on, the post-hardcore/screamo outfit released the EP Aesthetic on New York-based Four Leaf Recordings in June 2003 ahead sign language with Epitaph by the closing of the year. After the loss of their original vocaliser, Phillip Reardon, 15-year-old Sonny Moore coupled on as tether vocaliser during the recording of the band's debut full-length. Written in deuce weeks, the radical was rounded out on the album -- 2004's Devout Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Bodycount -- with drummer Derek Bloom and bassist Jon Weisberger. Tour dates with Story of the Year, Bad Religion, Halifax, and Emanuel, among many others, followed in front work began on their 2006 review. They parted shipway with Weisberger shortly ahead entering the studio, so producer Ross Robinson (Glassjaw, Slipknot) called upon friend Wes Borland (of Limp Bizkit and Bigdumbface celebrity) to fill in for the guys on sea bass (he later as well played some shows with them). The more than suppurate and ambitious Heroine was issued in March 2006 to positive reviews, and the band supported its entry into the Top 40 on the route with Fall Out Boy, the All-American Rejects, and Hawthorne Heights. From First to Last jumped up to the big league soon after, inking a conduct with Capitol that April. Though impulse continued to build, the ride to the top was not without its bumps. In peculiar, Moore struggled with vocal problems that finally resulted in meek operating theatre and From First to Last beingness constrained to drop cancelled various shows and festivals, including the 2006 Warped Tour and a fall support run with Atreyu. As work began on fresh material, Moore parted ways with the group in early 2007 to centralize on solo act upon, and guitarist Matt Good took over tip vocal duties. Around the same time, From First to Last's deal with Capitol also fizzled. But the guys (at once with fresh bassist Matt Manning for good on board) were determined and pressed on with plans to record and acquittance their next album themselves.

Kylie tells Britney to "reach out" for help

Pop singer Kylie Minogue has advised troubled star Britney Spears to "reach out" for whatever help she needs.
Speaking to The Sun, Australian singer Minogue said: "Who knows what is going on in her life? Britney isn't that young anymore. I think she will still come back but it's like she's taken an extended holiday."
She continued: "Whatever help she needs, she should reach out and get it. I wish someone would write a manual about fame because it's not easy."
The singer also said: "I'm always loath to say that because there are a lot more difficulties out there that people deal with every day - but when fame is handed to you, it is unique."
She added: "It's not to the same extreme, but I can remember having a mini-meltdown myself - and unless you've got good people around to support you, you've got a problem."

Busted - Ex-busted Members Set To Appeal Lost Royalties Battle

LATEST: Two former members of defunct British pop group BUSTED are planning to relaunch a court battle for royalties from the band's songs after a London High Court judge rejected their claims.

Ki MCPhail and Owen Doyle filed a lawsuit earlier this year (08) against their former bandmates James Bourne and Matt Willis for $20 million (GBP10 million) in unpaid royalties after claiming to have helped pen a number of the group's hit tracks.

However, the pair's court battle was thrown out of court last week (06Jun08) after Judge Morgan dismissed the case - throwing the duo's reliability as witnesses in court into question.

Now, they are set to appeal the judge's decision after releasing a statement claiming they would now be recredited as "original co-owners" of a number of Busted's songs, meaning they would be in line for the royalties from the songs, according to Gigwise.com.

MCPhail and Doyle claim they helped to pen four tracks including Year 3000 and What I Go To School For with Bourne and Willis when they formed a group called The Termites in January 2001.

Busted members lose court battle

Two original members of the boy band Busted have lost their High Court battle over a claim of £10 million in unpaid royalties. Ki McPhail and Owen Doyle maintain that they wrote several of Busted's songs, including the hits Year 3000 and What I Go to School for, when the band were formerly named the Termites.

The pair allege that they were kicked out of the band in 2001 by Matt Willis and James Bourne, and subsequently replaced by singer Charlie Simpson. Solicitor Tim Penny, representing McPhail and Doyle, said his clients were told that "unless they released their claims in relation to the group members' songs and in particular the four songs, they would be sued, Ki McPhail's parents would lose their home and the claimants would never work in the industry again."

Andrew Forbes, the solicitor representing the remaining members of the now defunct pop group said they "have emerged victorious". He added: "Doyle and McPhail were trying to claim a share of some of the band's biggest songs and also tried to use a partnership claim to grab a share of James and Matt's income from all of Busted's activities."

In a statement released today, Willis and Bourne said: "This was an opportunistic attempt by Doyle and McPhail to cash in on our success. Their claims were a complete fabrication and we are delighted that the judge has seen through this and totally dismissed them. Our position has been completely vindicated and our achievements with Busted remain untarnished."
